Philipp Plein found himself in hot water after his fashion show at the Milan Fashion Week. The Shade Room revealed all the details to their readers and you can also check them out below.
TSR revealed that during the show, there was a special tribute to Kobe Bryant and the designer revealed his new bedazzled purple and gold 24 jerseys. These were meant to look like Kobe’s Lakers jersey.
But, on the other hand, there were a lot of fans who were not feeling his tribute and called the man out for it.
As you can see below, the jersey also had Plein written across the front, some people also said that having a gold aircraft sitting in the middle of the stage was tasteless.
As TSR noted, Philipp responded to the backlash and he explained that the design for the stage was planned and created back in November of 2019 which means that it was long before the tragedy that happened this year.

As you know, Kobe, his daughter Gianna and seven other people lost their lives in a tragic helicopter accident.
He said, ‘This is the reason why they were gilded helicopters on the runway. I would have clearly removed them if possible, but it was too late to replace them.’
Not everyone slammed the designer, and a lot of people defended him.
For instance, someone said that ‘Kobe loved helicopters just like paul walker loved cars. Just because they took them out doesn’t negate their hobbies tf.’
One other follower posted: ‘It’s never that deep. Y’all complain about everything,’ and someone else said: ‘How is he criticized for this, if he’s showing respect people work my nerves sometimes.’
Another follower wrote: ‘At this point who cares. Nobody is happy with anything ever so just let folks be mad. Kobes wife didn’t care so why should I.’
Someone else also believes that ‘I don’t think he was really trying to disrespect him in any kind of way.’
