It was an early Valentine’s Day surprise for Supergirl actress Melissa Benoist. Her costar and beau Chris Wood popped the questions. She said yes, sharing the good news and gorgeous ring on social media.
On Sunday night while millions of people were tuned in to the 61st Grammy Awards, Benoist posted some exciting news of her own on Instagram. The actress was all smiles as she shared a photo of her soon to be husband Wood kissing her and showing off the gorgeous rock on her ring finger.
“Yes yes yes it will always be yes,” the 30-year-old captioned the picture. Woods soon followed by posting the same photo with a different message.

“The happiest,” he simply stated.
Not long after both Benoist and Wood shared their good news, he posted another photo that got fans even more excited for their upcoming nuptials. Wood shared a picture of the newly engaged couple at a wedding and revealed it would be their big day soon.
Jewelry designer Jennifer Meyer wasted no time congratulating the couple and sharing her experience with Wood in creating the perfect ring for his future bride.
“As a designer, it’s being a part of moments like these that mean everything. Congratulations Melissa & Chris on your engagement! Chris, when you designed this ring with me, you made some girls on the JM team wish you had a brother. Wishing you both a lifetime of love, happiness and lots of babies!” she wrote. Meyer was previously married to actor Tobey Maguire.
Wood joined the cast of Supergirl in 2016 as a love interest for Benoist’s alter ego Kara, who is of course Supergirl. Love blossomed off screen not long after the actress finalized her divorce from her Glee costar, Blake Jenner. They were married for less than two years.

Although romance rumors plagued Wood and Benoist for months, the couple finally went public in March 2017 when pictures of them packing on the PDA were published. There was no way they could deny a romantic relationship after those pictures emerged.
Now almost two years after sharing their relationship with the public, Melissa Benoist and Chris Wood are getting married. Based on his most recent post it will not be a long engagement so fans should expect to see wedding news soon.
